Outcome:
|
The
accrual of professional knowledge over a wide time
span has meant that industry changes have been recognised
as they occurred. The diversity of awards has provided
me with a wide background knowledge of various aspects
of the Local Government sphere. |
Employment:
Since
entering the engineering workforce in 1972, I have occupied
a range of positions in both private practice and Local
Government in several locations around New South Wales,
culminating in my move to Lithgow in 1986 as Council’s
Deputy City Engineer. The positions covered the fields
of design, works, water & sewerage, emergency management
and environmental management, as well as the overall management
of staff and functions that executive staff is required
to perform.
Since
leaving Council in 1998, I have produced Environmental
Impact Statements, REF's, subdivision designs, and various
civil engineering tasks, such as the project management
of smaller projects.
Outcome:
|
The
diversity of positions has given me an appreciation
and understanding of the range of problems facing
the Local Government Engineer, and the techniques
available to solve them. |
